A friend of mine recommended Dr. Wolf, so I scoured the internet and came up with very little information. I emailed Dr. Wolf via his website last night with a bunch of questions and woke up this morning with a personal response waiting for me in my inbox! I asked if I could share the info he gave me and he said I could, I hope this helps those of you looking for information about/from him. I also asked him for some before and after pics, and he sent me some (they looked really good to me, his work looks great, in my opinion!). This is what he sent me: "We do free consultations Monday through Thursday and a half a day on Saturdays. You can call the office at 248-363-9413 or email me for a consultation day and time that works for you. But since you are too far from the office we do email consults. You can email a front and side photo of the chest and I will give you my opinion. The total cost of the FTM top surgery is $5400 which covers everything but prescriptions. We do not take any insurance but we help provide patients with information to bill their insurance on their own. We do take all credit cards, cash, and pre-surgical payment. We do have patients who call the office and make credit card payment of various amounts on a schedule that works for them. Once the patient reaches the $5400 then the surgery is scheduled. To reserve a surgery day patients make a $500 deposit which is included in the $5400 cost. Patients can call three different finance companies that we use
Medical Financing 888 502-8085
M Lend 888 474-6231
United Medical Credit 888 503-1800.
We do not take Care Credit.
We have patients in the office from across the US and Canada. They will sometimes stay in the area for several days before going home after surgery. Sometimes they will do surgery and leave the next day and do the post op appointments by email or FaceTime. We do the surgeries on Fridays in our private operating room in the office.
They will need a week off to be in a compressive vest. No lifting arms for two weeks. Most people take 2-3 weeks off work. No working out for 4-6 weeks. The operation is about 3 hours long. We do not use drainage tubes. We haven't used them for 10 years. We don't have any problems with our patients. Our patients do not need to stop any medicine before surgery including testosterone. They can schedule surgery and come in for a preop visit or do the preop by email and just arrive for surgery on the day scheduled."
Seems like a very involved, conscientious guy. I hope the above info helps someone who is looking for the surgeon that suits them the best. I greatly appreciate all of the info and shared experiences I have come across on this site, among others, it has been very helpful for me as I figure out my own path for surgery!
