Will be getting top surgery this year. Does anyone know if Medicare pays for operating room expenses even if surgeon won't take it? thanks

That's a good question. Could Medicare pay the facility portion, while the surgeon is privately paid. I have not heard of this. You'd need to locate a hospital that accepts Medicare Part B, then find a competent surgeon who has privileges at that hospital and will accept private payment. It seems like it would be more direct to locate a surgeon who accepts Medicare, though I realize that's not always possible.
