Calling all trans*masculine and gender-nonconforming folks who have received top surgery and their caregivers:
Please take Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition's survey!
http://bit.ly/102GO8q
Respondents should be either:
- trans*masculine/gender-nonconforming
top surgery recipients
- folks (of any gender!) who have been in a
caregiving role for top surgery recipients
Our intention is to fill a need in transition-related healthcare: a lack of resources and information for caregivers of trans*masculine and gender-nonconforming folks getting top surgery.
The purpose of this survey is to aid future caregivers and thus those they care for. We want to document the breadth and depth of the care provided to top surgery recipients, vital work which often goes unrecognized outside of trans* circles.
The end result will
be a website and a print manual full of stories, skillshares, and best practices. Some stories will be illustrated by a graphic novelist.
Many of us have a community of 'those who have gone before' to answer questions and provide information--but just as many of us do not. This manual is not intended to replace community-building,
but rather to improve access to information for everyone. The end goal is to expand resources so that surgery recipients and their caregivers are fully supported throughout this important process.
The generosity of your time in telling your stories is so appreciated by the research team, and by all future caregivers who are able to access the end products. Thank you!
