Hello, My name is Lucas and I am 24 years old. I have been on T for a little over 5 years. I had my first top surgery consult in June, and then had to wait until sept to have another consult with the same surgeon because she went private and I had to wait for her to start at her new office. After a LONG wait, I got my consult. I scheduled my surgery with her that day for Oct 24. Unfortunately, my surgeon called me a week after that consult to inform me my insurance would not cover any of the surgery. I would have to come up with $8,000 for the surgery and a $1,000 hold. I sadly couldn't put down that amount being uncertain if I could get the rest of the money by the 14 of oct. After reaching out to family about possibly helping or co signing for care credit, they said no and I had to call and cancel my top surgery date.
