Dr. Laurel Chandler, MD is a Harvard fellowship-trained plastic surgeon who has received specialty training in FTM Surgery. During both her residency and fellowship training, Dr. Chandler focused on learning and mastering the aesthetic nuances of FTM Top Surgery. She provides individualized care for a diverse range of patients—up to 90% of whom are transgender and non-binary—at her practice in Darien, Connecticut.

Dr. Chandler completed her plastic surgery residency at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School and had the opportunity to work on countless cases of gender-affirming surgery through her training with Dr. Jonathan Keith, founder of the Rutgers Center for Transgender Health. Dr. Chandler sought out additional fellowship training in aesthetic surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess - Harvard Medical School, where she worked with two of the leading Top Surgery surgeons in Boston, Dr. Richard Bartlett and Dr. Adam Tobias.

The cost of Top Surgery with Dr. Chandler varies and depends on insurance coverage. Exact pricing can only be determined after having a consultation. Dr. Chandler accepts cash, credit card, check, medical financing (ex. CareCredit) and insurance, including Connecticut Medicaid.

Surgery Requirements

  • Dr. Chandler is a member of WPATH and follows WPATH guidelines for surgery. She requires one support letter from a qualified mental health professional recommending surgery for insurance coverage.

  • To ensure best results, patients must stop smoking prior to surgery.
  • Dr. Chandler will operate on minors with parental consent.
