Consultations: Dr. Schechter often does a free initial consultation by phone. An in-person consultation follows and is required prior to proceeding with surgery. If paying out-of-pocket, the $100 consultation fee will be applied towards your surgery.
Out of Towners: Be sure to ask Dr. Schechter's staff about reduced pricing for area hotels and ground transportation from your hotel to the hospital and/or office.
Wait List: Surgery dates can typically be scheduled within 2-3 months of consultation.
Financing and Insurance: Dr. Schechter accepts CareCredit, as well as Medicare and insurance. He has an insurance specialist on staff who can assist in precert/predetermination, etc.
Surgery Requirements: Dr. Schechter follows WPATH guidelines for surgery. You will require a medical evaluation by primary MD or MD providing hormones and a letter of recommendation from a psychologist or other mental health professional.
