Meta-mons fat - jammerg - 07-22-2014 I am coming up on 8 weeks post op for simple meta with Dr. Bowers. I am not a very big guy (only 160 lbs) and I have a lot of mons fat. My penis post meta is completely hidden. Have any of you had to deal with this, and what was your strategy moving forward. I cannot afford any revisions at this stage RE: Meta-mons fat - Joshua - 07-23-2014 Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this. I haven't but I've heard of lots of guys who have been down this road. To my knowledge, the only way to get rid of the mons fat is surgery. Since this doesn't sound like a possibility right now, you could consider a regular pumping regimen. It wouldn't remove mons fat, but could make your dick more visible. Has Dr. Bowers made any suggestions or comments? RE: Meta-mons fat - jammerg - 07-23-2014 Thanks Joshua. I guess what really irks me is that sitting in her office the day before surgery and she was examining me, she never said that I was not a good candidate for meta. She talked generally about mons resection with some of the bigger guys. I wrote her an e-mail last week expressing my concern, and she said "yes, I did tell you". She was very stern. She suggests surgery and/or pumping. Cost of a revision is $5800 and she says it is not guaranteed. I am waiting for delivery of a pump and will try that. Also, I may be able to see a plastic surgeon closer to home. RE: Meta-mons fat - Joshua - 07-23-2014 I can imagine how disappointing and frustrating this must be. There are so many details about these surgeries and unfortunately surgeons don't always fill in the blanks. Having surgery closer to home is a great idea. Not only will you reduce travel expenses, you'll also lower your post-op travel load, saving that energy for healing up. Plus, you may be able to get better results with a mons resection by going to a plastic surgeon vs. a GYN (though admittedly, I don't know how much experience Dr. Bowers has with mons resections, maybe more than I'm assuming.) But that still doesn't soften the financial blow. $6K tacked on to the cost of a metoidioplasty is pretty significant. The pumping may work well as a temporary measure but if it's a more significant case of hidden penis, surgery is probably the best solution. This probably isn't all that helpful right now, but metoidioplasty revisions are very common. Based on the past 5 years or so of monitoring the topic, I'd say it's less common to get a bottom surgery procedure in a single stage. (Wish it weren't so... I still have a long road ahead of me.) Meta-mons fat - 4passionandsoul - 08-27-2017 I'm about 4 weeks post simple meta + mons resection. I'm glad pre-surgery that I said I wanted to be standing when she marked out how much to resect - I hang very differently laying down than standing. It lifted my cock up about 3 inches, which was enough to now be visible. Unfortunately, I'm now struggling with the fact that my outer labia all got pulled up right alongside it, because they trim your minora in surgery but not the majora. I'll be talking with her soon about if there are any revision options on that front. In short, the meta was worth it for me, but I'll still likely want to do something about the other fat/tissue there. I'd love to hear how your alternative looks for folks who do them goes, as they are effectively a tummy tuck for the mons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
