I Need Help Figuring Out Top Surgery - lunchboxknives - 04-10-2021
Helloh, I'm a nonbinary transmasc adult from Oregon, US, temporarily living in Georgia, hopefully moving to Maine soon. I am autistic and have been way too overwhelmed the past couple years trying to look into top surgery. I'm pretty poor aside from savings reserved for rent money and emergencies and possibly ftm top surgery, all of which came from limited unemployment benefits I just received. I haven't gotten any of the three stimulus checks and I'm disabled so making money has been really difficult for a long time. I'm going to call my insurance company tomorrow (still on my dad's insurance) to see what kind of coverage I can get, but so far it looks like regardless they'll still require a diagnosis for gender dysphoria and a couple letters from doctors. I don't see any doctors or therapists anymore and I never told the ones in the past about my gender stuff, just my name change. I basically need assistance in finding a less expensive surgeon who has good results and doesn't require those things, hopefully somewhere southeast in the US to limit travel costs for me and my partner. I feel like asking for this is a lot but I think anything would help. Thank you! -lunchboxknives

Yeah, insurance co's always require letters.
Dr. Sherie (Charlotte) and Dr. Marvel (Nashville) don't require therapist letters:

Dr. Kenneth Wolf is one of the most affordable Top Surgery surgeons and also doesn't require a letter, but he's in Michigan.
