Hey everyone,
I have recently begun trying to get top surgery, and am in the process of deciding between a few surgeons. Unfortunately I do not have nearly enough money to pay for it and I can’t use my family’s insurance because they don’t know. I’m a queer nonbinary person in need of top surgery (breast removal). I am denied surgery in my insurance network and have to seek surgery out of network because there’s a BMI cut off for the surgery. It is not feasible for me to reach that BMI limit, nor do I want to.
After trying to get surgery since age 21 I have finally, at age 47, found a surgeon in Seattle Wa, without any weight limitations, and have been accepted as a candidate for surgery and my first virtual consultation.
Since I won’t get the surgery covered with my insurance I will have to pay out of pocket. This means I have little money to save up for the surgery on my own.
The surgery is not only important because of the need for gender euphoria, but also because I have back and neck pain from having a large chest". Since I have already gone this long it is important to get it done to prevent even more emotional and physical damage. If you could share or donate to my gofundme I would appreciate it.
