I'm considering metoidioplasty (with UL, v-nectomy, scrotoplasty, etc.) and have already had a consultation with Dr. Chen in SF. But I have a question for you guys.
My problem is that currently (pre-op, on T for 2 years) the head of my "dick" is hypersensitive to the point of being in pain whenever clothing brushes up against it. This did not happen pre-T, because it was hidden away under skin (before it grew when I started T). It bothers me every day. It's not so much a problem of being between my legs; I think it is mainly a problem of just rubbing against clothes.
I choose underwear very carefully (NEVER wear any with a seam down the middle) and try to wear very loose boxers and pants. However, even with saggy shorts, it's still possible to get some rubbing and pain, especially with running and hiking.
So I am wondering if metoidioplasty can make the hood extend to cover more of the head, and/or if the new positioning of the dick makes it less likely to keep rubbing against clothes as you walk?
I would very much appreciate any insight!!!

Good question! Dick hyper-sensivity is pretty common within the first 6 months on T, but yours has persisted.
What did Dr. Chen say?
It may depend on how much tissue your anatomy makes available. For example, many of the meta results shown on the BrownsteinCrane website show the glans (head) fairly exposed, but there are also a few photos that shows the foreskin covering the glans.

Thanks for responding. I didn't ask Dr. Chen these questions during the consultation, but I just emailed him, and he responded that, for one thing, it's not realistically possible to lengthen the hood. I guess those people in the photos who had a longer hood/foreskin were just built that way naturally. Also, he said that the new positioning of the dick post-op might be worse, when it comes to rubbing on clothes.
But I'd still love to hear from anyone who actually experienced anything first-hand that might relate to my issues.

Dr. Chen's comments indicate that this problem would be worse post-op.
Agreed, it would be great to hear from someone with post-meta experience on this!

I have not had a meta but am planning on it, and this worries me too. I am also very sensitive on the tip, furtunately I tuck away at the moment so few rubbing issues. I suspect that meta will make the problem worse but I need to do something about my genitals and phallo is too complicated. I may ask Dr Miro as I am planning surgery with him.

I had meta with Dr. Crane and I can tell you right now that the skin that covers the clitorius will not lengthen at all after surgery. If anything I would say it actually retracts more.

Yes it did. Also oddly UTI’s. I also get
Smegma build up at times which is not pleasant

for there patient. Mine did not. There is not
much research on ftm bottom surgery and no one
really talks about problems. Some sail
through with none but there are a lot more problems
then talked about I bet. Anyway, just ask questions
None of this is easy at least mine has not been.
