Hi, I don't really know how to do this sorta thing. I'm a disabled man living in Washington, near Seattle, who is completely unable to work, and I'm afraid crowdfunding would likely guarantee that I lose my benefits, even though I don't get the checks myself. I need my disability to get around and pay for food and the like, but my dysphoria keeps getting worse, especially up top.
How would I be able to pay for surgery, specifically top but later on bottom without losing my benefits?
If possible, I'd prefer to be reached at my blog on tumblr, bibarrybluejeans.tumblr.com, as idk how much I will be using this app.

Do you have SSDI that was granted due to WC injuries?
I looked into this myself, because I was scared of loosing my income. Everything I found said they don't care about any incoming monies unless they are a result of current or previous work/employment. Gifts, which is what crowdfunding is are exempt...from that.
I'm not sure about the IRS.

Do you have Medicare? Medicare pays for all 'Medically Necessary' health care. I'm in the process of having bottom surgery this year and it's covered by my Medicare. I live in California which is easier to navigate health care, but Medicare is National As far as I know, if YOUR doctor says it's Medically Necessary, it's good. If for some reason Medicare should deny it, appeal the decision. I'm fairly sure they will come around.
