hi folks
my surgeon (Dr. Yokoo) cleared me to stop wearing the post op binder at 30 days. i'm using mepiform scar tape on the scars still. since i'm now moving in lots of ways i haven't been moving, i'm getting a lot of achey and stinging pain in my scars, especially when i wake up because i think i'm rolling onto my side in my sleep. (my surgeon didn't have any specific instructions about sleep after 30 days but i've seen other people say to wait 6 weeks to sleep on yr side?)

i'm also super worried about my scars stretching because i'm ~vain~ Sleepy

i'm trying to take it easy but realistically i'm gonna have to start moving normal ways at some point- later in the healing process, will it stop hurting to stretch? or will my skin just have to get stretched out at some point? i was in pretty much zero pain (except back pain from binding) before i stopped wearing the binder.

if my scars are pretty thin now (i'm putting a photo below), will they get more stretched by moving? i've also noticed some people get stretch marks above their scars- is this something that would have happened already or something that will happen as i return to my normal range of motion?

i have so many anxious questions! thanks!

Normal movements shouldn't be a problem, just avoid reaching over your head for a while. The pain in the incisions sounds like normal healing, and will decrease with time.

Have you tried gently massaging your scars? There's some instruction for this here: http://transguys.com/features/scar-care#postop

I hope this helps!

ps. Your results are going to look great!
