Not good. Sadly, the poster didn't understand this, got huffy and left.
As to your question, I don't have an answer. There are lots of private groups available already, and while they are helpful many of these spaces can also be intimidating and competitive. Good or bad, I imagine I will find my best support via one-to-one conversations. (That's how it worked out with a previous surgical complication.)
True indeed, as I didn't even have to have a name to know exactly who it was as I know the person. So I get it 100% but I also understand from that patients stand point he had no where to really share due to the competitive nature or the downplaying of his complications due to others not having a similar situation. I couldn't fathom doing that even if someone had a zillion complications with the same surgeon I used I'd never tell them their input it null which many will and have done. Hopefully in the future more guys will learn respect and modesty. We'd get alot farther as a community.

I am scheduled for meta with Dr. Crane on October 2, 2015, but just found out from my employer that they are switching to BCBS of MA. Since Dr. Crane is not in network with BCBS, I am beginning to evaluate my other options in case it doesn't work out as planned. I really like the results that I've seen of Salgado's. Could you please add me to the FB group as well: https://www.facebook.com/LWBigB
Just a heads up its quite easy to get crane covered as in network even if Salgado is currently in network you can state your case based on his creditials and techniques. Salgado does not offer the same technique of phalloplasty the only phallo they do alike is forearm and even then crane does his totally different. But as I said I know plenty who have got him covered as in network. Yes you have to do a little footwork but if it's what you really need it'll be like icing on the cake. Also someone you may not know of Dr Schechter in Chicago takes any insurance you can think of long as they covering srs and I believe he doesn't meta not sure but I know for fact he does forearm, ALT, and MLD,. But to see results you'd have to consult in person or wait til one of the guys has surgery this year. I know 3 who are so I'll slide back around when they do and shoot you a personal message if you'd like.
I also don't have FB for the record lol
